Tulip Telecom has won the Frost & Sullivan Growth Leadership Award for Enterprise Data Services (MPLS VPN) 2009, the 3rd time in a row. With an extensive domestic network that reaches almost every district in India, Tulip enables Corporates to extend their applications to the remotest part of the country.
Tulip's IP/MPLS network is a carrier grade infrastructure built, using state-of-the-art networking equipment. It is the only network in the country offering MPLS VPN services to over 1700 locations in India. Tulip is geared to provide Bandwidth on demand, Video Conferencing, Voice Over IP (VoIP) and a host of other value added services that could revolutionize the way a corporate business works.
The entire network is connected over high-speed fiber backbone and offers multiple access technology options including wireless to the last mile. This unique approach allows customers to get connected quickly and easily with very short time lead, eliminating many of the hindrances encountered in traditional copper-based last mile connectivity provided by incumbent service providers. Tulip network infrastructure is created using multiple technologies enabling customized connectivity solutions for its customers.
Tulip Network Architecture
Tulip's IP/MPLS network is designed with 'no-single-points-of-failure' architecture. All critical equipment and links are deployed in redundant mode, offering network availability in excess of 99.95%. Our hierarchical follows a three-tier model with 3 layers ie Core, Aggregation and Access layers.
The Core & Aggregation Network:
The Core network of Tulip consists of high speed interconnects between the twelve major cities in India. All these cities are dual-homed to high-capacity core routers at Delhi and Mumbai, each capable of processing up to 120 Gbps of data traffic. All core routers are carrier-class, fully redundant chassis configurations. To provide an additional level of redundancy, the core routers are deployed in two geographically dispersed POPs in both Delhi and Mumbai. This design provides unmatched levels of core network availability.
Tulip network has twelve centers for traffic aggregation, each of which is dual-homed to the core routers over STM-1/DS3 capacity links. These links are not only in redundant mode, but also follow independent fiber routes between the POPs. All the remote aggregation points are connected to the core network over redundant paths allowing connectivity to be maintained even in times of link failures.
The Customer Access Network: The most critical aspect of a network is the access link to the customer or what is called as the "last mile" connectivity. With the explosion in requirements for data connectivity the last mile invariably turns out to be weakest links in the entire network. To address this solution, Tulip has built infrastructure to address all types of customer locations and terrains. We have been innovatively using advanced wireless technologies to reach out to our customers from remote locations. Besides wireless, Tulip is also deploying a vast fiber network in major cities to provide last-mile fiber connectivity.
Benefits of Tulip IP Backbone using MPLS Technology:
Customers located in key business districts will be able to enjoy very high bandwidth (up to gigabit speeds) using dedicated fiber connectivity. The entire Tulip Network Infrastructure is designed to ensure the following:
-
Provide a diversified range of services (Layer 2, Layer 3) to meet the requirements of the entire spectrum of customers from SMB's to Large businesses.
-
Highest redundancy levels to ensure no single point of failure.
-
Highest levels of scalability to handle both geographic expansions and bandwidth growth.
-
Flexibility in solution design, implementation and expansion through the use of multiple technologies.
-
End-to-end assured network security.
-
End-to-end assured quality of service making IT possible.
-
Provide a reliable and amenable service, offering SLA to customers.
-
Capable of meeting a wide range of customer requirements, ensuring quality of Service (QOS) and any-to-any connectivity.
Tulip understands that networks must be flexible, tailored to meet communication needs, compliant with regulation and also aligned with industry standards. Through a comprehensive range of services, adaptable scale, and in-depth networking expertise, we keep organizations connected and communicating – through their networks.
