Eveready

Eveready is one of India's most reputed companies. The company has a portfolio comprising of dry cell batteries (carbon zinc batteries, rechargeable batteries and alkaline batteries), flashlights (torches), CFLs (Compact Fluorescent Lamps) and packet tea. It has also recently forayed into the mosquito repellant industry. Eveready has a wide distribution network all over the country with 15 branches, 40 godowns and 4,000 distributors.

Challenge

Eveready is having 10 major locations with 31 warehouses located at different parts of India. Most of the warehouses are in non-urban areas where RE based last mile connectivity was the only option. The basic challenge which Eveready was facing was that they wanted a service provider who could provide them connectivity in their remotest of the locations.

Solutions

Eveready is using MPLS VPN connectivity service from Tulip from the past three years. Tulip has connected 25 sites of Eveready industries India Limited with bandwidth ranging from 32kbps to 512kbps. Tulip's best¬in-class services, made it possible for Eveready to connect remote locations which enabled the users to access the mission critical applications which include Oracle e-business suite and Demantra demand management applications. Tulip being the major player in this segment had the technology to reach out to remotest location. Tulip's customized and cost effective solution, provided 32 kbps VPN connectivity instead of 64 kbps (minimum VPN bandwidth quoted by other service providers) thus facilitating smooth running of operations in warehouses etc.

Earlier Eveready network was connected on a point to point connectivity using fibre, which resulted in interrupted access of applications. Tulip provided them a stable and secure network by connecting their locations through MPLS VPN connectivity, ensuring a redundant network. Tulip has been providing them round-the-clock support backed by NOC which results in proactive management and monitoring.
