R-APDRP Project in Uttar PradeshTulip has been selected for executing the order as a part of the larger Restructured Accelerated Power Development Reforms Program (R-APDRP), an initiative driven by Ministry of Power, Government of India to set up reliable & automated systems for sustained collection of accurate base line data & the adoption of Information Technology in the areas of metering, billing, energy accounting & customer care. This will enable provision of the right information & experience to customers and significantly reducing Aggregate Technical and Commercial (AT&C) losses. ChallengeTulip has been selected for execution of the order for the supply, installation and commissioning of MPLS VPN, internet and other connectivity services to all the project towns under the R-APDRP scheme floated by Power Corporations of Uttar Pradesh (UP). Some challenges faced are: * Lack of proper infrastructure * Discrepancy in system, leading to commercial losses * Lack of systematic electrical implementation SolutionsAccording to the statistics, there are huge AT&C losses in India, which amount to around 32-33%. Government wants to reduce these losses to atleast 15% and has taken initiatives to invest Rs. 50000 Crore to enhance the electrical and IT Infrastructure. Tulip has connected 2100 locations of the customer by providing MPLS connectivity and connected 4 utilities, ie: Meerut, Lucknow, Agra and Varanasi. Tulip has also provisioned 46000 GPRS connection which result in proper automatic meter reading. Tulip has helped in both DC and DR by providing internet connectivity to the customer. Tulip has been enabling reduction of losses which occurred due to inefficiency in the system and theft.
