Lt. Col. Hardeep Singh Bedi, Chairman & Managing Director(CMD)
Lt. Col. Hardeep Sing Bedi, VSM joined the Indian Army, following his three generation old family tradition of serving the nation in the Army and was commissioned in the 72nd armored regiment. A National Defence Academy pass out, Lt. Col. Bedi developed management qualities during his tenure in the army. He got an opportunity to learn computers in the Army's Faculty of Computer Technology at MCTE, Mhow. After the completion of his training, Lt. Col. Bedi was appointed as an instructor in the faculty. As part of the student projects, Lt. Col. Bedi got an opportunity to interact with the industry thought leaders and at the same time propose solutions to them. He was thereafter called upon to develop a large number of technology solutions for the Chief of the Army, General K Sundarji and various Army Headquarters Directorates. After his initial success in the field, Lt. Col. Bedi was posted to the Army Headquarters to coordinate the Army's Automation plan.
Lt. Col. H.S. Bedi was awarded the `Vishisht Seva Medal' (VSM) by the President of India for his role in the computerization of the Indian Army.
After serving the Indian Army for 22 years, Lt. Col. Bedi recognized his entrepreneurial skills in the field of Information Technology and decided to leave the Indian Army to start his own company. He took over the business of Tulip as its Director. His leadership and vision has enabled the company not only to constantly grow into more profitable business segments but also to attain the leadership position in every segment that it has functioned in.
Under his guidance, Tulip Telecom Services has established itself as one of the strongest network connectivity players in the industry. Tulip has achieved enviable success in a short span and has experienced exponential growth with a turnover of Rs 2351.1 Crores (USD 525 Million) for the FY 2011 with an employee strength of over 3700.The company has been successful in creating immense value for all its stake holders.
Lt. Col. Bedi, Often addressed as the 'King of Wireless’, envisaged the beginning of a new era in connectivity. Today, Lt. Col. HS Bedi, is a well-recognized business leader in the IT and telecom industry and has vast experience in this field.



Deepinder Bedi, Executive Director
Deepinder Singh Bedi is the Executive Director of Tulip Telecom Ltd since 2005. Deepinder joined the company in 2000 as a management trainee and has been associated with the company since then. Under his current role as the Executive Director of the company, Deepinder serves on Tulip’s board and is responsible for developing and executing the company’s long-term growth strategies.
Deepinder had also worked in different roles for EMC Corporation and done projects for State Street Bank in the US. He earned his Bachelor degree in Electronic Engineering from Nagpur University as well as MS in Information Systems and MBA from Boston University.
Deepinder also serves on the board of Tulip’s joint venture with Qualcomm in India to roll out Broadband Wireless Access networks in the Delhi, Mumbai, Haryana and Kerala circles of India. Deepinder is an active member of various industry chambers including CII and ASSOCHAM. He is currently the Co-chair of ASSOCHAM e-Governance committee.



Mr. Umesh Garg- Chief Financial Officer (CFO)
Mr. Umesh Garg, a CA by profession, brings with him a rich multi company / industry experience of over 28 years . He has worked with leading names of the manufacturing and services sector such as Shyam Telecom Group, Bhushan Group, Indorama Synthetics and HFCL Group while holding leading financial position there. He has deep commercial acumen and strategic vision, in true sense a hands on business man rather than just a finance head.
In his previous stints, Mr. Garg has been responsible for handling entire Financial and Commercial function of the organizations worked for. He has handled Project Funding, working capital facilities from consortium of banks, raising Equity through public issues /placements, restructuring through mergers / demergers , valuations and due diligence.
He has been a part of the investment decisions making body for past 20 years and is exceptionally strong on budgeting, business planning, cost control & optimisation and performance monitoring. He is also a part of the Committee for Growth and Business Expansion Plans headed by CMD and has been directly working with the CMD for more than 20 years now. He is also equipped with an expertise in managing public issues and handling financial and commercial functions of large organisations.



Mr. Deepak Khanna – President, Enterprise Business
Deepak Khanna is President- Enterprise Business. Deepak holds responsibility to lead the next wave of growth within Tulip, he leads different industry verticals including BFSI, IT/ITES, Mid Market & MEP, all regional business across the country as well as the carrier and alliance businesses.
He has valuable experience of over 20 years of which the last 15 years has been in the telecom industry leading hi-growth business across start-up, green field, turnaround and in rapid change environment, his association has been with companies including Bharti Airtel, Escotel, DSS Mobile Communication, Tata Group and the HCL Group. In his last assignment at Bharti Airtel, he was heading the Airtel Business Services division as Director Operations. He has spearheaded the Data business transformation of Airtel across the SMB sector in the country and has built a market leadership position within this space.
Deepak has done his Masters in Marketing from Symbiosis institute of management studies, Pune and has actively participated as well as conducted various leadership, telecom & strategy forums organised by CLL Europe, Microsoft APAC, IIM and other prestigious institutes.



Mr. Rajesh Duggal , President - Government Business
He is responsible for leading the Government, Defense and PSU business by formulating strategic plans to advance Tulip’s objectives in this sector. Mr. Duggal has a multi-disciplinary experience of over 23 years in the entire value chain of Government business. He is an enterprising leader with a solid record of contributions that streamlined operations, invigorated businesses, heightened productivity and enhanced internal controls. In his last assignment, Mr. Duggal was heading the Government Business for Reliance Communications. Prior to that, he was working with Spanco Ltd. where he leveraged his entrepreneurial ability and skills in translating corporate vision, and to overcome complex business challenges.
Mr. Duggal is a B.Tech. from I.I.T. Delhi where he was awarded the Institute Silver Medal. He has done his Masters in Engineering from University of Tokyo on Japanese Government Scholarship.



Mr. Jitendra Israni, Chief Service Officer (CSO)
He is responsible for efficient delivery of services to the customers and continually innovating Tulip’s service delivery processes, while ensuring compliance to industry best practices. As the Chief Services Officer he heads the technology functions of the company.
Mr. Israni brings with him a rich experience of 23 years in extensive business leadership from telecom and IT domain. He has held senior executive positions in leading technology and service provider organizations including IBM, Reliance, Zee, Iridium, Siemens and DoT.
Mr. Israni’s technical strengths include telecom & IP network planning & implementation, Internet Data Centers design, deploy and operations as well as managed IT and network services. In his last assignment at IBM, he was responsible for winning business from telecom organizations within the strategic outsourcing segment and some of his key wins include mobile number portability and readying the IT systems for 3G services rollout.



Mr. Ashu Malhotra – Executive Vice President, Human Resources
Mr. Ashu Malhotra is the Executive Vice President, Human Resources. He is responsible for spearheading the HR function of all our group companies. He brings with him 20 years of rich experience of having worked in companies like Dabur, Max India, Honda Cars, Bharti Airtel and Alcatel Lucent.
He has been in the Senior Leadership Role for the past 10 years. He brings with him Corporate experience from the telecom industry. In his last assignment, he was the Country Head - HR for Alcatel Lucent for all Group companies including Managed Services. Prior to that, he was Head HR for Fixed Line Business in Bharti. He has handled Global and Asia Pacific International assignments while working with Honda.
He has done his Masters in Human Resources from Xaviers Institute and certification in Training & Development from Carnegie Mellon. He is a certified Trainer on TQM and Corporate Governance and Yellow Belt in Six Sigma.



Mr. C R Narayanan – Chief Information Officer(CIO)
Mr. C R Narayanan presently the Chief Information Officer (CIO) at Tulip Telecom Ltd is equipped with a rich experience spanning over three decades. Prior to taking up his role at Tulip Telecom he has worked at significant leadership positions in leading global and Indian organisations. Some of the major roles he has taken up in the past were of a Senior Vice President at DSC Limited, Group CIO at Spanco Systems and Solutions and Director IT at Alstom India. Collectively his responsibilities included implementation and administration of business applications, IT Strategies aligned to business needs and IT infrastructure involving hardware, software, communication devices and connectivity.
At Tulip Telecom his primary responsibility is to standardize the processes which is very essential for Tulip which is growing at a fast pace. He will also be responsible for selecting the OSS stack for Tulip. He has proved his capability already by implementing and stabilising SAP within six months. He has also been able to create a private cloud for the sprawl of servers which has greatly helped in optimizing the rack space in the Data Centers and reducing the power consumption by more than 70% which are the largest recurring cost. He will also be responsible in planning the DR for Tulip applications and is also actively involved in Tulip’s product development initiative.
He has been conferred with many prestigious honors and awards in 2011 such as CIO 100 by IDG, Cloud Pioneer award by EMC. He was also part of the Indian delegation to Bhutan for drawing up their IT roadmap. He has received many prestigious awards earlier also. He is also the jury member for selection of the Next 100 CIOs.
Mr Narayanan, a qualified engineer from REC Trichy and an MBA in finance from FMS Delhi, likes to keep himself abreast of the latest technological advances. He is a very active member of many CIO forums. When not tackling Tulip’s communications and application infrastructure, Mr. Narayanan likes to spend his time reading, playing golf and listening to music.



Mr. Dilip Naik - Chief Operating Officer (COO)
As Tulip’s Chief Operating Officer, Mr. Dilip Naik is responsible for the strategic and operational leadership of the company. He is responsible for delivery Services business including Business Excellence. He joins the senior leadership team of Tulip to set an overall Services and Operations strategy and direction for the company in achieving excellence.
Bringing with him a rich experience of 20+ years, Mr. Naikhas worked in senior leadership roles at some of the leading names in the telecom sector such as Alcatel Lucent and Motorola and was spearheading the Global Services Operations for India Region at Nokia Siemens prior to joining Tulip family.
In his previous roles, Mr Naik has played a major role in Setting up Technical Support Centre of Lucent Technologies in India supporting all major telecom players in and has also lead Managed Services Delivery for Bharti Airtel. He has services excellence awards to his belt while serving in these companies.
Passionate about photography and yoga, Mr. Naik holds a Degree in Electronic Engineering from Karnataka University and a Masters in Programme Management from George Washington University.
